A very warm welcome to our new students. It has been an amazing week at DPSI.
Students tuned into the 1st line of inquiry ‘Celebration’ under the transdisciplinary theme ‘How we express ourselves’. A provocation was made through a birthday graph to understand what they can celebrate about themselves and a celebration of the day they were born. Students also created a mind map to understand what constitutes planning and organizing a celebration for a birthday party.
UOI was integrated with Maths through a birthday graph. The graph represented how many children have their birthday in a given month.
UOI was integrated with language wherein the students were given an opportunity to share memories of their favourite birthday celebrations.
To further understand how artefacts are associated with celebrations, students inquired into a Hindu festival ‘Rakshabandhan’ and assembled shapes to create a rakhi and decorated it.
Learners profile attributes like ‘Inquirers’, ‘Courageous’, ‘Caring’ and ‘Principled’ were emphasized through different activities and story telling.
