Going further into the understanding of the central idea students inquired into personal celebrations (birthday). To deepen their understanding, they created a ‘Priority pyramid’ by sorting out picture cutouts to prioritize their needs for birthday parties. Students were introduced to different celebrations through a ‘Celebration Calendar’ wherein the celebrations were colour coded to differentiate between personal, religious and national celebrations.

Reinforcement of days of the week was done through ‘The hungry caterpillar’ story the concept of today, tomorrow and yesterday was discussed in class. Prior knowledge assessment on quantity association was done with a game, wherein the students rolled the dice and associated the number to the quantity.

Students enhanced their thinking skills and developed their vocabulary with the use of a mystery bag, wherein they picked one object/picture card from the bag and spoke about it.

Introduction of vyanjan ‘R’ was done using picture card and later students traced the letter on sandpaper cutouts.
To further enhance their listening skills rhyme ‘nana muna rahi haun’ and ‘choti gaiya’ was sung to rhythm.
As a part of the early year skill program, the students learned how to count the quantity (1-5) with the spindle box-1 material, smell jars and knobbed blocks.

The students practiced some patriotic songs. They sang in groups and some sang solo on the mike as well, demonstrating the profiles of being courageous and motivating their peer group to do so independently.
They also practiced the solfege and the scales for vocal warm ups and sang some of the variations of the scales to learn and understand more about voice modulation. The students performed actions, clapped and tapped thereby understanding that body parts could be used for percussion beats.
